Our aim is to ensure a smooth transition of children from school to the After School Club. We support both children and parents and in particular, those parents who need support for various reasons, for example – work commitments, time out for study, shopping, medical appointments etc, but also children are welcome to come and join in the fun of After School Club regardless.
Our range of activities during After School Club hours include:
Physical games/sports Including football, rounder’s, baseball, musical movement and dancing.
Creative skills Including model making, painting, baking, Knitting and lots of other various arts and crafts.
For quieter activities we have various books and stories, various educational computer games and also various board games.
For bad weather we have a Wii consoles supervised at all times by a member of staff.
We encourage team – building skills, sharing and taking turns. Our games and creative activities encourage social development, mathematical development and also give’s the children knowledge and understanding of the world.
We offer fun activities for the children to enjoy and also support children with their homework.
We ensure that all children are treated fairly and without discrimination. Also that children’s religion, race, nationality, gender etc are respected and that all children have equal opportunities to express themselves and show respect and consideration for each other.
We also run an awards scheme to encourage respect and behaviour. It runs from each term and prizes are awarded.
We run an inclusive practice, and will adapt any activity we have planned to include, ethnic beliefs, cultural differences, disabilities and any age.
